Ferryside Save Our Signalbox (SOS) project had its first public meeting on the 18th of September. A number of intersted members of the community attended and contributed to the discussions and ideas.
The purpose of the meeting was to give an update to where the project is now and what the next steps need to be. A range of diverse and interesting ideas were suggested and these can all be explored as the group forms and broader discussions take place involving the whole community.
Already a number of volunteers have come forward wanting to participate and develop the project to the next stage, we will be very grateful for more volunteers to join us either working as part of the core committee or undertake the various tasks required to get this project completed.
The committee posts suggested include the usual chair, treasurer and secretary along with liaison officers with Network Rail, Transport for Wales, legal, local authorities and government departments along with a grant finder to secure funding to take this project forward. So far seven members of the community have volunteered for posts on the committee which are very grateful for and if you would like to join please let us know or join us at the next public meeting or the first committee meeting.
The proposed date for another public meeting is 2pm Saturday 12th of October and the suggested date for the first committee is Sunday the 29th of September at 11am.
We would like to thank everyone who attended the first public meeting for giving their time and suggestions along with their enthusiastic participation.
