The Coracle Europe Fringe is an international arts festival hosted by write4word CIC. It takes place in Carmarthenshire between 23 and 25 November. On the evening of Saturday 23 November, the festival brings a literary cabaret to Calon y Fferi.
Starting at 7pm:
We will have a visit across the water from the Llansteffan Writers, Mel Perry, Jane Manley, Shareen Fors and Lottie Williams, some of whom still live in Sweden and will perform via zoom while others will be in the room.
Bengt O Björklund is the Sweden Beat Poet Laureate Who will be present in person and will be staying in Ferryside for a week.
Rachel Trezise is a novelist and playwright from the Rhondda Valley, South Wales. Her work has won the Orange Futures award and International Dylan Thomas Prize and was a judge on the 2024 Wales Book of the Year.
Dr Gemma June Howell is a multi-talented writer, poet, activist, academic and editor, as well as being the Director of Women Publishing Wales she will be reading poetry with James Mckenna and Mick Evans, regular members of the Cerddi yn Cwrw community.
Festival goers who attend the afternoon’s shredder poetry workshop will be performing and destroying their work with Steve the Shredder.
PEN International is a worldwide association of writers, founded in London in 1921 to promote friendship and intellectual co-operation among writers everywhere. The association has autonomous International PEN centres in more than 100 countries. Luca Paci of Wales PEN Cymru will be creatively celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Welsh centre
All events at the festival are free entry and there will bar available at Calon y Fferi.
Some events will be live-streamed and two events will have BSL interpretation.
